What is your student to teacher ratio?
Our student to full-time teacher ratio averages 8 to 1. Of course, with the many part-time teachers working for CCA this ratio effectively is much lower still.
What is the homework load for the students?
Younger students generally have between 15 minutes - 30 minutes of homework each night. Even when no homework is sent home, we encourage parents to review subject material with their children at home (such as new chants, Latin vocabulary, math facts, etc.). Older Students report about 1-2 hours of homework on an average day. Time is given during the school day for individual study, which encourages students to budget their time and prioritize their assignments.
My child has attended a non-classical school. Will my child struggle if he transfers to Covenant Classical Academy?
The older the child is the harder the adjustment tends to be. We have found that students entering as late as the fourth grade make excellent transitions into the curriculum. We welcome transfers of every age level and are committed to working with both the parents and the students in order to acclimate students as quickly as possible.
Have your graduates gone on to higher education? Do Colleges accept the transcripts of Classically trained students?
Yes, 100% of our graduates have gone on to further their education. In fact, they have all received academic scholarships at the schools they attended. Our students have never encountered problems when applying to either public or private colleges. The high academic achievement of classically trained students is noticeable not only in their transcripts but in the standardized test scores as well.
Our graduates have been accepted to the following institutions:
